Post-FA19: Happy Holidays!

Oh gosh I know, I know, I’m terrible at this! Before I knew it another semester has come and gone, and I haven’t given any word on the development on the site. ArtCenter’s curriculum put me through the wringer as usual, and by the time term came to a close my sleeping and eating schedule has never been more messed up! I ended up spending the last week recovering from sickness just well enough to make it through the holidays. But even though I was worse for wear, I spent a significant amount of time compiling much of the work I’ve done for work and for school throughout the decade, and I’m pleased to announce that a large majority of that is now up for viewing on this site! Those of you who were familiar with my site might remember a smaller body of work through my Personal and the Works page sections listed up top; I have since filled the latter’s content, and have also given the Coursework some much-needed love. Here below are some sample screengrabs of what pages you can peruse!

Those of you with keen minds and active eyes may notice that I have intentionally locked most of the work I’ve done in classes, as it is a resource representative of ArtCenter’s collegiate entertainment and industrial design programs. As such, it is opened primarily to friends, family, professional contacts, and benefactors. It should go without saying that attending ACCD is both financially taxing and time-consuming. I’ve also had to upgrade my Squarespace membership to allow for the amount and fidelity of work that I want to share, and so I hope that you would be considerate in supporting what I can bring to the table!

I’ll be speaking to you again very soon! In the meantime, much love, merry Christmas, and happy holidays to you all!

A Slice of My Own Life

“The great thing is to last and get your work done and see and hear and learn and understand; and write when there is something that you know; and not before; and not too damned much after. Let those who want to save the world if you can get to see it clear and as a whole.”
- Enrnest Hemingway, Death in the Afternoon

I am nowhere near as literate as I want to be; it’s been a few years even since I have sat down to read any book in full. I mention this as it is difficult for me to try and put forth thoughtful posts that will absolutely be scrutinized by readers. But as Hemmingway says, I need to do my best to persevere and understand, and in doing so, I can hopefully make you, dear visitor, see and understand the words I speak and the work I do.

My very first class of this fall back at ACCD is actually a 1st-semester Writing Studio class; it’s a little polarizing as this term is technically my 7th since attempting the undergraduate program in 2011. Just like in this past spring, I’m sitting once again next to the fresh and naive new blood. Not that it bothers me! It’s a bit of fun for me to see how the new students fare with their first semester at ArtCenter. As for taking a 1st-semester class after 7 years, I’m okay with that too; as I said, I’m not as educated as I might make myself out to be, and it’ll serve as a nice refresher in analytical and critical thinking and writing. I need to develop my communication proficiency outside of my usual projects either way. I’m going to make the best use of my time in this class, as well as the other four classes I’m taking this term, by keeping an open mind and trying to fully understand the deeper concerns the instructors are trying to have me tackle.

I might be a jaded old fart compared to the under-20-somethings that I’m sitting next to. But everyone goes at their own pace. Being 28 and that much more experienced in so many ways has been a huge boon to me, and I find consolation in that I can readily open myself up to new challenges because of that.

I plan on adding updates to the blog at least twice a week! And I swear it’ll be much more than just a wall of text. The few posts are going to be reveals of some of the new sections I’ve added, those navigational tips I talked about previously, as well as summation of the first weeks of classes.

That’s all I have for you tonight! Until next time!

Oh, How It's Been A While

This is for you, my onlooker and visitors.

It’s been over a year since I launched this website! I’ve left it alone for quite a while A lot has happened, and times were dark. Real dark. Really had me in a slump. I’m finally climbing out of my recluse hiding to put my livelihood on the map. It’s here I want to start sharing my own voice and hopes, laying out my skills and experiences to better our society the only way I know how. I believe you’ll find good work and intent in what I will share with you.

I’ll begin unraveling my creative endeavors and stories all in due time.

Below you’ll see I included an updated portfolio. Besides the graphic design work here’s a much larger emphasis on illustrations and concept art - I’ve decided to return to ArtCenter College of Design in Pasadena to finish the the Bachelor of Science in Entertainment Design degree I initially started back in 2011. I’m already undergoing the first week at my second term back at ArtCenter, so things are going to get real busy again

In the past few weeks however, I’ve toiled away on clearing up the dust, moving things around, and adding A LOT of content. So much so that I’m actually teetering on some of the page limitations on Squarespace where I’m building this. It’s still quite a work in progress, but the bones are set and all I have to do now is add the meat. For now, feel free to click around!, and do also feel free to interact with me through any means available on the site. I’ll be reading your comments and emails! Enjoy what I have for you to see, I guarantee there is much more to come.

Until next time!
